The Women’s Sports Committee started as a committee affiliated to the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and was announced by Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs No. 3 of 2000.
In order to be under its legitimate patronage, the Women’s Sports Committee in the State of Qatar joined the Supreme Council for Family Affairs at the Qatar Olympic Committee on March 18, 2001, Resolution No. 12 of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Under the name of (Qatar Women’s Sports Committee).
The Qatar Women’s Sports Committee is keen to encourage women to participate in sport, excel and improve their lives, establish a strong Olympic sports team, and raise the Qatari community
to embrace the State of Qatar as a positive force in the life of women, and to push all women to make positive decisions to participate in sport.
All girls and women in Qatar have the opportunity to benefit from participating in sports. We also focus on providing inspiration and opportunities for them to participate in sports and make it part of their lives.
